We have lived all our adult lives in Alberta. We have worked and
raised our family here, and are now retired and devoting our time to
our dogs, our sheep, and our small personal consulting business.
We have had Norwegian Elkhounds for 37 years, and have been breeding them for 34 years. We have been a registered kennel since 1980, and have remained faithful to our chosen breed. We are life members of the Canadian Kennel Club, and follow their guidelines for ethical hobby breeders. Our puppies are all legally registered and guaranteed. We home raise and socialize them well, and are very selective about where they are “placed”. Many of our puppies are sold to owners who have returned to us two or three times over the years; or by word- of-mouth references from happy families.
We bought our first seven Katahdin ewes in 2003/2004; and from there
have developed a small flock of highly pedigreed, registered stock for
the sale of live animals, semen and embryos. In cooperation with other
Katahdin owners/breeders we have extended our presence into South
America, Britain and Europe. We enjoy a reliable, trustworthy
relationship with an excellent collection, storage and shipping
facility whose owners are highly qualified veterinarians, specializing
in this type of small ruminant work. We are members of the Canadian
Katahdin Sheep Association and Katahdin Hair Sheep International; Nina
is a certified coat inspector.
Our respective vocations (Allen – B.Sc., CRSP) (Nina – B.Ed., MBA) have provided us with a wealth of experience and expertise in business management, marketing, and government / industry / public liaison. Our consulting business applies these skills specifically to small business and entrepreneurial firms. We are experienced in domestic and international travel, meeting with potential clients, and “dealing with the details” as part of our service to you.
